Notion Health Day Board

A personal day board for tasks, focus and wellbeing. It syncs your tasks from Notion and your Apple Health data from an iPhone Shortcut. It runs as a private page (an artifact) in Claude, and Claude sends you a short summary each morning and evening.

Think of it as a post box. Each evening your iPhone puts one health line into a Notion page. Your board collects that line, and your tasks, when it syncs.

What it does

The board has six pages, with links between them:

Page What you can do
Today See tasks to do, tasks done today, focus minutes, mood and steps. Each tile opens its page. Shows the three tasks to do next.
Tasks Tick tasks, search, filter by group, and star up to three as today’s focus. New tasks from Notion wait in a “New from Notion” box.
Focus Run a 15, 25 or 50 minute focus timer for one task. Finished sessions are logged.
Wellbeing A 20-second daily check-in: mood, energy, sleep score and one line of notes. A 14-day mood chart and a check-in streak.
Health Steps against a goal, sleep, heart rate variability (HRV), exercise and resting heart rate, with 14-day charts. Shows how your sleep, steps and sleep score link to your mood.
Progress Tasks done and focus minutes per day, levels and points.

Setup

Pick the complete guide for your computer. Each one covers every step from start to finish.

Your computer Guide Time
Windows docs/setup-windows.md about 1 hour 30 minutes
Mac docs/setup-mac.md (shortest) about 1 hour
Linux docs/setup-linux.md about 1 hour 15 minutes

All three need an iPhone, because only an iPhone can read Apple Health.

The steps below are a short overview of the same path.

Step 1. Make two Notion pages

  1. To-Do List. Make a page with your tasks as to-do (checkbox) blocks, one task per line. Type [] and a space to start a checkbox. Text after a dash is shown as a note, for example Message a friend- about the weekend. Plain lines without a checkbox are ignored.
  2. Health Log. Make an empty page called Health Log. You can add one line of text at the top, for example “My iPhone Shortcut adds one line here each day.”

Step 2. Publish the board in Claude

  1. Get the page ID of each Notion page. Open the page, tap Share, then Copy link. The page ID is the 32 letters and numbers at the end of the link.

Example: https://www.notion.so/To-Do-List-0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef has the page ID 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef.

  2. Open board/index.html. Near the top of the script, replace the two tags with your page IDs:

    var PAGE_ID='YOUR-TODO-LIST-PAGE-ID';
    var HEALTH_ID='YOUR-HEALTH-LOG-PAGE-ID';

  3. Start a chat with Claude, attach the edited board/index.html, and send this:

Publish the attached index.html as an artifact, exactly as it is.
Declare these capabilities: db (no rules) and mcp with the server
    "Notion" and the tool "notion-fetch".

  4. Open the new artifact. Press Sync Notion and choose Allow when Claude asks about Notion. Your tasks appear on the Tasks page.
  5. Keep the artifact link. In this guide it is called YOUR-BOARD-ARTIFACT-URL.

Step 3. Build the iPhone Shortcut

Open the Shortcut guide on your iPhone and follow it. It takes about 30 to 40 minutes, one time only.

At the top of the guide, paste your Health Log link. The copy buttons then hold your own page ID.

The Shortcut needs a Notion key (an internal integration secret). The guide shows how to make one. Keep the key only on your phone, inside the Shortcut. Never put it in this repository, a file, or a chat.

Step 4. Test the whole chain

  1. Run the Shortcut once. The notification must start with {"object":"list".
  2. Open the Health Log in Notion. A new dated line is at the bottom.
  3. Press Sync Notion on the board and open the Health page.

If something fails, see docs/troubleshooting.md.

Step 5. Daily messages (optional)

Make two scheduled tasks in Claude, one with each prompt:

Message Prompt Suggested time
Morning prompts/morning-update.md 8:30am
Evening prompts/evening-update.md 15 minutes after your Shortcut automation, for example 11:15pm

Before you use the prompts, replace YOUR-TODO-LIST-PAGE-ID, YOUR-HEALTH-LOG-PAGE-ID, YOUR-BOARD-ARTIFACT-URL and YOUR-TIMEZONE (for example Europe/London). Each run also syncs Notion to the board, so the board stays up to date even when you do not press Sync.

You can ask Claude: “Make a scheduled task every day at 8:30am in my time zone with this prompt”, and paste the prompt.

Step 6. Desktop widget (optional)

Choose the guide for your computer:

System Guide Time
Windows docs/desktop-widget-windows.md about 10 minutes
Mac docs/desktop-widget-mac.md about 5 minutes
Linux docs/desktop-widget-linux.md about 10 minutes

Daily use

  1. Morning: read your morning message. Open the board, go to Wellbeing, and do your check-in. Type your sleep score from the Health app (Browse, Sleep).
  2. During the day: star up to three tasks for focus. Use the Focus timer. Tick tasks when they are done, in Notion or on the board.
  3. Evening: the Shortcut sends your health line. Then the evening message arrives.

After about a week of check-ins, the Health page starts to show how your sleep, steps and HRV link to your mood.

Privacy and security

Report a problem

Open an issue on GitHub. For a security problem, use Security, Report a vulnerability on the repository page instead, so it stays private. Never paste a Notion key into an issue.

Known limits

Tested on

The setup steps and the troubleshooting list come from building and testing the board end to end on an iPhone with an Apple Watch.
