notion-health-day-board

Complete setup guide: Windows

Other systems: Mac Linux

This guide takes you from nothing to a working board, with every step for a Windows computer and an iPhone.

Time: about 1 hour 30 minutes. You can stop after any part and come back.

Think of the system as a post box. Each evening your iPhone drops one health line into a Notion page. Your board collects that line, and your tasks, when you press Sync.

You need

Part 1. Get the files (5 minutes)

  1. Open the repository page on GitHub in your browser.
  2. Click the green Code button, then Download ZIP.
  3. Open your Downloads folder. Right-click the ZIP file and choose Extract All, then Extract.
  4. Open the new folder. You see board, docs, prompts and shortcut-guide.

Part 2. Make two Notion pages (10 minutes)

  1. To-Do List. Make a page. Add your tasks as checkbox lines, one task per line. Type [] and a space to start a checkbox. Text after a dash is shown as a note, for example Message a friend- about the weekend.
  2. Health Log. Make an empty page called Health Log.
  3. Get the page ID of each page. Open the page, click Share, then Copy link. Paste the link into Notepad. The page ID is the 32 letters and numbers at the end. Ignore anything after a ?.

Example: https://www.notion.so/To-Do-List-0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef has the page ID 0123456789abcdef0123456789abcdef.

  4. Keep both IDs in Notepad. Write which is which.

Part 3. Put your page IDs in the board file (5 minutes)

  1. In the folder, open board. Right-click index.html, choose Open with, then Notepad.
  2. Press Ctrl + H. The Replace box opens.
  3. In Find what, type YOUR-TODO-LIST-PAGE-ID. In Replace with, paste your To-Do List ID. Click Replace All.
  4. Do the same for YOUR-HEALTH-LOG-PAGE-ID and your Health Log ID.
  5. Press Ctrl + F and search for YOUR-. It must find nothing in the lines that start with var PAGE_ID and var HEALTH_ID.
  6. Press Ctrl + S to save. Close Notepad.

Part 4. Publish the board in Claude (10 minutes)

  1. Open a new chat at claude.ai.
  2. Drag the edited index.html into the chat box.
  3. Paste this message and send it:

Publish the attached index.html as an artifact, exactly as it is.
Declare these capabilities: db (no rules) and mcp with the server
    "Notion" and the tool "notion-fetch".

  4. Open the new artifact. Click Sync Notion. When Claude asks about Notion, click Allow. Your tasks appear on the Tasks page.
  5. Copy the artifact link from the address bar. Keep it. This guide calls it YOUR-BOARD-ARTIFACT-URL.

Part 5. Build the iPhone Shortcut (40 minutes)

You build the Shortcut on your iPhone, because only the iPhone can read Apple Health.

  1. Send yourself the link to the Shortcut guide, by email or a messaging app: https://claude.ai/artifact/Dm6jjbEFNxQutpQ9xAgaTc . It is the same guide for every system.
  2. Open the link on your iPhone.
  3. Paste your Health Log link into the box at the top of the guide.
  4. Follow every part, in order. Tick each step when you finish it.

Keep your Notion key on the iPhone only. Never put it in a file, in this folder, or in a chat.

Part 6. Test the chain (5 minutes)

  1. On the iPhone, run the Shortcut once. The notification must start with {"object":"list".
  2. On your computer, open Health Log in Notion. A new dated line is at the bottom.
  3. Open the board and click Sync Notion. Open the Health page.

If something fails, see troubleshooting.

Part 7. Daily messages (optional, 10 minutes)

  1. Open prompts\morning-update.md and prompts\evening-update.md in Notepad.
  2. Use Ctrl + H to replace YOUR-TODO-LIST-PAGE-ID, YOUR-HEALTH-LOG-PAGE-ID, YOUR-BOARD-ARTIFACT-URL and YOUR-TIMEZONE (for example Europe/London).
  3. In a Claude chat, send: “Make a scheduled task every day at 8:30am in my time zone with this prompt”, and paste the morning text.
  4. Do the same for the evening text. Pick a time 15 minutes after your Shortcut automation, for example 11:15pm.

Part 8. Desktop widget (10 minutes)

Follow desktop-widget-windows.md. It makes a small board window that opens with Windows and can stay on top.

Daily use

  1. Morning: read your morning message. Open the board and do your check-in on Wellbeing.
  2. During the day: star up to three tasks. Use the Focus timer. Tick tasks when they are done.
  3. Evening: the Shortcut sends your health line. Then the evening message arrives.

If it does not work

You see Fix
Notepad shows one very long line Normal. The file has long lines. Use Ctrl + H and do not edit by hand.
The board says “Set your Notion page IDs” Part 3 did not save. Open the file again and check the two var lines.
Sync Notion finds no tasks Check the To-Do List page has checkbox lines, and that you pressed Allow.
Anything else See troubleshooting.
