notion-health-day-board

Complete setup guide: Mac

Other systems: Windows Linux

This is the short route. A Mac and an iPhone work together, so some steps become much smaller.

Time: about 1 hour.

What is shorter on a Mac:

You need

Part 1. Make two Notion pages (10 minutes)

  1. To-Do List. Make a page. Add tasks as checkbox lines, one per line. Type [] and a space to start a checkbox. Text after a dash is shown as a note.
  2. Health Log. Make an empty page called Health Log.
  3. Get both page IDs. Open each page, click Share, then Copy link. The page ID is the 32 letters and numbers at the end of the link. Ignore anything after a ?.
  4. Keep the two IDs in a note, and write which is which.

Part 2. Publish the board (10 minutes)

  1. Open the repository page on GitHub. Click Code, then Download ZIP. Double-click the ZIP in Downloads. A folder appears.
  2. Open a new chat at claude.ai. Drag board/index.html into the chat.
  3. Send this message. Put your two IDs in:

In the attached index.html, replace YOUR-TODO-LIST-PAGE-ID with
    MY-TODO-ID and YOUR-HEALTH-LOG-PAGE-ID with MY-HEALTH-ID.
Change nothing else. Then publish it as an artifact.
Declare these capabilities: db (no rules) and mcp with the server
    "Notion" and the tool "notion-fetch".

  4. Open the artifact. Click Sync Notion, then Allow. Your tasks appear on Tasks.
  5. Copy the artifact link. This guide calls it YOUR-BOARD-ARTIFACT-URL.

Part 3. Build the iPhone Shortcut (30 minutes)

Only the iPhone can read Apple Health, so you build the Shortcut on the iPhone. Your Mac makes it faster.

  1. The Shortcut guide is at https://claude.ai/artifact/Dm6jjbEFNxQutpQ9xAgaTc . It is the same guide for every system.
  2. Open that link in Safari on your Mac. Paste your Health Log link into the box at the top.
  3. Make the Notion key on the Mac, where typing is easy. Open https://www.notion.so/profile/integrations, click New integration, name it Health Shortcut, type Internal, and save. Click Show, then Copy next to the secret. On the Access tab, give it access to Health Log.
  4. Open the Shortcut guide on the iPhone too. Use AirDrop, or Safari Handoff (the Safari icon at the left of the iPhone app switcher).
  5. Follow the guide on the iPhone. When it has a Copy button, click Copy on the Mac, then tap and hold on the iPhone and choose Paste. The text arrives from the Mac.
  6. When you reach the header Authorization, copy Bearer from the guide, then copy the key from the Mac. Paste each on the iPhone.

Keep your Notion key out of files and chats. After the Shortcut works, clear the key from the Mac clipboard by copying any other word.

Part 4. Test the chain (5 minutes)

  1. On the iPhone, run the Shortcut once. The notification must start with {"object":"list".
  2. On the Mac, open Health Log in Notion. A new dated line is at the bottom.
  3. Open the board, click Sync Notion, and open Health.

Part 5. Daily messages (optional, 5 minutes)

  1. In a Claude chat, drag in prompts/morning-update.md. Send: “Make a scheduled task every day at 8:30am in my time zone with this prompt. Replace YOUR-TODO-LIST-PAGE-ID with MY-TODO-ID, YOUR-HEALTH-LOG-PAGE-ID with MY-HEALTH-ID, YOUR-BOARD-ARTIFACT-URL with MY-BOARD-LINK and YOUR-TIMEZONE with MY-TIMEZONE.”
  2. Do the same with prompts/evening-update.md, 15 minutes after your Shortcut automation, for example 11:15pm.

Part 6. Desktop widget (5 minutes)

Follow desktop-widget-mac.md. In short: open the board in Safari, choose File, then Add to Dock.

Daily use

  1. Morning: read your message. Do your check-in on Wellbeing.
  2. During the day: star up to three tasks. Use the Focus timer. Tick tasks when done.
  3. Evening: the Shortcut sends your health line, then the evening message arrives.
